## Why tools?

Most generosity doesn't stall for lack of caring. It stalls at the next step: which kindness, which charity, how much, which night. Each tool here handles one of those steps and then points you to the full, sourced guide behind it.

- **[Kindness Generator](https://magnanimo.us/kindness-generator/)** picks a specific act of kindness from [75 ideas](https://magnanimo.us/random-acts-of-kindness-ideas/) and tracks your streak as a constellation of stars.
- **[Charity Checker](https://magnanimo.us/charity-checklist/)** walks through the checks in [how to vet a charity](https://magnanimo.us/how-to-vet-a-charity/), including the FTC's scam red flags.
- **[Giving Budget Planner](https://magnanimo.us/giving-calculator/)** turns a percentage into a monthly plan and explains the [2026 deduction rules](https://magnanimo.us/charitable-tax-deductions/).
- **[Meal Train Planner](https://magnanimo.us/meal-train-planner/)** builds a printable schedule using the advice in our [meal train guide](https://magnanimo.us/meal-train/).
- **[Generosity in numbers](https://magnanimo.us/charitable-giving-statistics/#numbers)** charts where America's $617.2 billion in 2025 giving came from and where it went.

## Frequently asked questions

**Are these tools free?**

Yes, all of them. There are no accounts, ads or paywalls.

**Is my data stored?**

Nothing is sent to a server. A few tools remember your settings or progress in your own browser's storage so they're there next time; clearing site data removes them.

**Do the tools work on a phone?**

Yes. Every tool works on phones, tablets and computers, with a keyboard or a screen reader.
